Saturday, 16 August 2014

In Malaysia - Pavilion Kuala Lumpur celebrated Tokyo Street's 3rd Anniversary with three days of ‘Sweetest Celebration’. Tokyo Street has established itself as the go-to destination for Japanese culture, arts, retail and food, bringing an authentic Japanese experience to the Malaysian market – a first-of-its-kind in the country.

The joyous occasion kicked off with the arrival of Guests of Honour, His Excellency Dr Makio Miyagawa, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia and Joyce Yap, CEO of Retail, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, followed by an astounding traditional Japanese Wadaiko Drum performance. To officiate the ceremony, Joyce Yap and His Excellency Dr Makio Miyagawa did the traditional ‘Kagami Biraki’, also known as the sake barrel breaking ceremony; to signify a brand new chapter for Tokyo Street.
