Nestlé Japan will soon be using a humanoid robot to sell Nescafé coffee machines to enhance brand engagement with consumers. The humanoid robot, known as Pepper, will be selling Nescafé Dolce Gusto and Nescafé Gold Blend Barista coffee machines in around 20 home appliance stores starting in December 2014. A further plan is to launch the humanoid robot nationwide in around 1,000 stores by end of 2015.

Equipped with the latest voice and emotion recognition technology, Pepper is the first robot in the world that is able to read people’s facial expressions and respond to human emotion by listening to their tone of voice and analyse their feeling.

Will Pepper come to Singapore?
