Coming-of-Age Day 成人の日 is a Japanese holiday held annually on the second Monday of January. Celebrations are often held mark young men's and women's transitions into adulthood – for those who has reached the age of maturity, 21 years old.

 

Higashiomi city 東近江市 in Shiga Prefecture of Japan, which is most famous for its giant kite festival held on the last Sunday of May, attracted young women and men in their kimono and suit to flew a gigantic kite to celebrate the country's annual coming-of-age day on Sunday 11 January 2015.
