Japan will open the first hotel that is operated by android robots. The two-story hotel, named as ‘Henn na’ which means ‘Strange Hotel’ in Japanese, will be opening on 17 July 2015 and is located at the Dutch-inspired Huis Ten Bosch theme park in Sasebo, Japan.

With 72 rooms, the hotel will be operated by 10 robot staffs which will provide room cleaning, front desk services and porter services.

With lower manpower cost, the hotel rooms will be more affordable and online booking is currently available for 17 July to 30 September 2015.  Based on single room per person, the room will cost ¥9,000 (approximate SGD 103) for a size of 21 square metre, ¥11,000 (SGD 126 for 28 sqm) and ¥13,000 (SGD 155 for 33 sqm).
