Japanese photographer takes 3rd prize

The Honorary Jury of the world’s largest photography competition has awarded Japanese photographer Yoko Naito third prize in the Professional Travel category of the 2015 Sony World Photography Awards, the world’s largest photography competition, on April 24.

 

Yoko Naito, who is based in New York, was selected from over 87,000 entries to the Professional competition for a series called “In Between” which was shot in Iceland. Ms Naito will have her series shown at the 2015 Sony World Photography Awards exhibition at Somerset House, London and the photographs will be published in the 2015 edition of the Sony World Photography Awards book.

To the winning photographer, the award recognition is a great honour not only as a photographer, but also as a Japanese artist who is eager to introduce our Japanese sensitivity to the world.
