「日本ワイン Matsuri 祭」 Opening Ceremony

With the growing interest of Japanese food culture, attention to Japanese wines has also increased outside Japan. Organised by Japan Wineries Association, Japan held its first Nihon Wine Matsuri「日本ワイン Matsuri 祭」 at Toyosu Park 豊洲公園, which is one of the largest parks in Tokyo, from June 5 to 7, 2015.

Fifty-one wineries across Japan from Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Kansai, Kyushu, Shikoku, Chugoku and Hokuriku Koushinetu joined forces to host the 3-day matsuri for wine lovers and families. Entry is free but participants who are interested to taste the wines are required to purchase a plastic wine glass at 200 Yen (approximate SGD 2.10). They are free to go round the wine booths to choose their choices of red and white wine; and each glass of wine is chargeable between 300 Yen to 700 Yen, depending on the grade.

Nihon Wine Festival 「日本ワイン Matsuri 祭」 will be held annually till 2020 when Tokyo hosts the 2020 Olympics and Paralympics. Good news is… Hai Japan is working out plans co-host Nihon Wine Festival @ Singapore in 2016. Stay tune for the good news!
