Go Mizutaki – Hakata cooking style

Mizutaki 水炊き is a Nabemono (or Nabe) style dish where a selection of meat and vegetables are cooked in a large pot and served right at the dining table. This hot pot dish is usually kept hot by portable stoves and diners can enjoy eating while it is cooked.

 

One Mizutaki Japanese restaurant in Singapore is 鶏金 Torikin located at Crown Centre along Bukit Timah road. Originated from Hakata district in the city of Fukuoka in Fukuoka Prefecture, Torikin provides signature Mizutaki or commonly known as Hot Pot Hakata Style – one of the popular dishes in Hakata.

According to Torikin, the signature Mizutaki was first introduced to Singapore by the restaurant. Together with Hakata traditional cooking methods, the highly collagen chicken soup requires 7 hours of cooking in order to provide tasty flavor and rich taste. Surprised?

 

Torikin is located at 557 Bukit Timah Road #01-14/16, Singapore 269694 and open daily from 6.00pm to 11.00pm while lunch is only available on Saturday and Sunday from 12.00pm to 3.00pm.
