This July and August, Liang Court celebrates another Japanese cultural festival for the first time in Singapore – Tanabata 七夕. A Japanese version for Chinese Star Festival 乞巧节, Tanabata is commonly referred to as Chinese Valentine’s Day. Held on July 7th, the festival celebrates the reunion of the Cowherd & Weaver Girl, who were separated by the Milky Way and were allowed to meet just once a year.

One highlight of Tanbata festival is the 3rd edition Machicon to be held on 7 July with an anticipating of over hundreds male and female participants visit up to 3 restaurants and cafés (of 12 participating restaurants) while meeting new friends. Machicon is originated from Japan as a popular large scale social ‘Meet & Dine’ event since 2004. For more information, visit www.machicon.sg.

First Machicon event in Singapore, 25 February 2013.

Shoppers can redeem couple themed pillows, complimentary parking coupon and purchase fresh Japan harvest at the Farmer’s Market by Meidi-ya Supermarket. Liang Court will also bring back the Signature Food Trail where shoppers can enjoy 3 different set-meals, 1 quick bite & grab a FREE beer or drink for only $40 at any of our 25 participating F&B outlets from Monday to Thursday (during Tanbata festival).
