World's Largest Rice Paddy Art - Saitama

The Tambo Art of Gyoda rice paddy in Gyoda city (行田市) in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, marked its eighth year this year; and the Saitama rice paddy art had finally been recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's largest rice field mosaic on September 8, 2015.

 

Since June 13, 813 rice-planting volunteers and general public had been participating in the rice-planting and maintenance campaign. 7 types of rice varieties were planted over 2.8ha of paddy field, approximate 28,000 square meters, and planting a plurality of different rice of color, it is an initiative that represents a character or pattern, or the like.
